America's armed forces have served this country bravely since its founding. When they return, regardless of our
feelings about the purpose of the mission in which they served, we owe it to ourselves as a nation to ensure that the get
the care they need. We cannot allow veterans
to suffer from a lack of care or funding.
The VA needs to be funded fully, so that members of our armed forces who return home wounded can be taken care of effectively.
It is a sad fact that in this nation, we have veterans who are unable to get treatment for their medical needs, and many
more go homeless.
This district deserves a representative who will actually serve these veterans and look out for their needs, rather
than one who will merely talk about veterans to gain political capitol.
Our nation achieved great successes after World War II because we took care of our veterans and helped them return successfully
to domestic life. This country today needs to ensure the ability of veterans to contribute to society once they get home by enabling these former soldiers
to access education. This country's veterans deserve a new G.I. Bill,
like the one proposed by Sens. Webb and Hagel. We need to help our veterans again. It is time for our nation to take
care of those who put everything on the line for it. We need to ensure healthcare, education, and aid are all available to
those veterans who need them.
